Service Projects Update

 

Christmas Celebration on the Grand: We decorate a tree each year at the Gerald Ford Museum.  All of the baby items used to decorate the tree will be donated to local charities.

 

Christmas Community Outreach: Each year we “adopt” families for the Christmas Holiday through DA Blodgett.

 

Cookbook: We put together a MOMS Club Grand Rapids-North Chapter Cookbook. We used recipes from all of our club members to make a cookbook to sell. We will be donating all proceeds to the Kent County Healthy Start program. This program is free and has resources to give information, support, and guidance to all first-time parents in Kent County regardless of age, income, or educational level. It helps people connect with the community and other new parents, find childcare, medical care, and transportation, keep their baby healthy and safe, and teach parents to play with and enjoy their child.

 

Tomorrow’s Child/ Michigan SIDS Grand Rapids Baby Walk:  Tomorrow's Child/Michigan Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the lives of newborns and healing families, one day at a time. Tomorrow's Child is a resource for grief support, risk reduction, and community education, leading the effort to provide information and assistance to families and the medical community. For babies who survive the first month of life, SIDS continues to be the leading cause of death.

 

Spring Banquet: We raffle off various tickets and items.  The money raised from the raffle go towards the Mother-to-Mother Fund. The Mother-to-Mother Fund is a MOMS Club Fund for members in need.

 

Garage Sale: We sold over $1600 at the 3rd annual garage sale.  20% of all sales were donated.  Proceeds went to Faith Lutheran for allowing us to use their facilities for free year round, and to the Mother-to-Mother Fund® to help moms in need within MOMS Club.
